coach Tristin Colley
pro, 2:25 Marathoner
Through coaching at the university level, I've learned the most important skill a coach can have: the ability to truly listen. I think listening to athlete's goals and needs is first and foremost the most important step in setting up a coach/athlete relationship. Communication is important and I will work to create a special and individualized training plan that works best for each athlete. I was on the coaching staff for Appalachian State University's cross country and track and field team for over 4 years and have learned so much about how to help young athletes reach their goals. My husband Andrew and I also coached the youth track and cross country program, Tailwinds, for years until we moved back to Raleigh this year. As a post collegiate athlete, I also know what it takes to be successful after college when venturing into the world of road racing and marathons. I am willing to coach athletes of all levels--whether you're just starting to run your first 5k or running your 100th marathon, I can help you achieve your goals.
